I can't believe it was back in October 2015 that I made the decision to expand my knowledge and seek professional development. I wanted the flexibility to work anywhere in New York like a salon, spa or hotel and to do that I had to have a NY esthetician's license. I live in the fashion capital of the world! I want to grow! What I didn't know then that I know now is in order to get my NY license I had to learn A LOT about esthetics. Makes sense, right? What I also learned was I have a great work ethic, a lot of life skills and I have the ability to do whatever I put my mind to. I needed to be reminded of those things. It has been a wonderful ego booster.
The education portion of this process is finished. I completed the required 600 hours and did excellent on all of my tests (written and practical) and have a NY state esthetic's temporary license. I now have to take my NY State practical and written exams which are in March. I want to say I am back to normal and have an open schedule to book clients, but the truth is I am staying focussed and want to keep my schedule light. April will be the start of a brand new chapter.
Turns out- I really like to wax! I will be adding waxing to my list of services.
My daughter, Zuzu, gets an angelica mask. It is hydrating, soothing and nourishing.
